Keratella

Keratella is found in lake plankton and in vernal pools. Although it is well-armed with hooks and a tough shell, Keratella is preyed upon by small fish, predatory cladocerans such as Leptadora, and the phantom midge larva, one of the few insects to adapt to planktonic lifestyle.
