Branch With An Attitude - Podargus papuensis

Here is a bird with an attitude - if you find one (and you are very unlikely to do that) it most certainly will have it's nose up in the air. The reason why you might not find it is because these birds are remarkably camoflaged, both in coloration and in behavior - it is so cryptic and so motionless, it looks just like a branch. This is the Papuan frogmouth, Podargus papuensis, a night-feeding predator belonging to the Family Podargidae.
